Max out taxlevel up to the point were you are still in green popularity so you don't lose villagersbut get the most tax.Popularity: Above being said, you can raise tax levels higher (without losing villagers)if you have more popularity! Ways to improve popularity are:Food. Try to allways have enough food of evry type.
More diffrent types = more popularitybonus! You should make sure you produce enough of evrything to maintain 4x level of allfood types.Ale. You should produce enough ale to keep it at 4x level for max popularity bonus.Buildings. You can raise popularity by placing entertainment buildings. I prioritize these,place them closest to your townhall for max popularity bonus!Beds. A good parish steward should use the money generated from its taxpayers to remove these, but they usually don't. So have an army at least to take care ofbandit camps and wolf lairs!
